Product Information Belt Transporter
The belt transporter is a simple, scaleable solution that facilitates flexible automation at a reasonable cost. The system consists of a network of fixed belts (the belt transporters) that transport the products quickly, easily and flexibly through the nursery.
Step by step automation
The belt transporter is ideally suited for use as the first, simple step in automation with the intention of continuing to automate at a later date. A large number of practical examples can be found here. This is how one of the WPS clients began with a number of belt transporters. This initial beginning has expanded to become a network of belts which have automated a large part of the work on the crops and plant processing, including fully automatic placement on an unhardened cultivation bed.
Flexible in use with varied pot sizes and products
The belt transporter is a very flexible system. This is shown by the fact that nurseries with a changing cultivation programme that incorporate a number of products and pot sizes get on with this system extremely well. For a lot of these nurseries, automation using roller containers, forklift trucks or the Walking Plant System often isn’t a cost-effective option. The belt transporter offers an excellent alternative then.
Interesting combination with unhardened cultivation beds
The belt transporter is certainly an interesting choice in combination with unhardened cultivation beds (including Erfgoed among others) as far as business economics are concerned. The belt transporter doesn’t necessarily have to be mounted on a concrete floor since a (cheaper) unhardened cultivation bed is often perfectly adequate. A degree of automation that is just as high, or higher, can be achieved in combination with the belt transporter.
